Shocking, I know.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Huh... how did that happen?... "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

My result was The West. And apparently, my accent is the lowest common denominator of American accents. Thanks, Quiz People! Is this because I say "pen" and "pin" the same? :)

I know - I scored Midwest, equivalent to saying, "no accent." Probably northern plains or Missouri.

I've lived in OK since I was 5. But then, I can pick up a New Zealand accent by watching a Lord of the Rings appendix, and one of my goals is to be multilingual. Natural talent triumphs over enviroment!
