Knitting 101 ... or Scoutie's Knitting lesson
Get distracted by a pencil, lesson over...
With Scout's help, I've finished another version of the Cables in Chamonix sweater. I knit the first one for the Knitting Olympics. This version is in Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky and a pretty chocolate brown ( see photos above, under Scoutie's feet). I've completed all the pieces and just need to block it and sew together pieces and add the neck.
While I'm waiting for the pieces to be ready to sew together I've started another sweater. I'm trying a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern for a top down cardigan that is knitting up amazingly quick! I just started it on Monday or Tuesday and have completed most of the body. It's a pretty simple pattern, but the yarn is pretty so I think the result won't be too boring.
I've also been shopping! I did pretty good last year with my yarn diet, but I'm already making up for it this year. I've purchased yarn to make Elizabeth Zimmerman's Ribwarmer. That will probably be next... since I have been dying to see what it would look like and cast on earlier today:-) Just trying to keep up with my growing stash!

Beautiful kitty.
That Scout... she's quite the knitting maven! ;^)
I just got the 'other' cardi pattern, the round neck (not the scoop neck), I also found the pullover pattern I've been wanting for so long... I've heard nothing but good things about the Knitting Pure & Simple patterns. What yarn did you choose?
Can't wait to see your Ribwarmer, I've been thinking about that one too, I sure could use one right about now...brrrr...
'They' say the high will be 31F tomorrow... in which case, if the wet doesn't dry up (yeah, sure) I probably won't be at Knitnight...
I have a swatch I wanted you to look at...
I like the Knitting Pure and Simple patterns. I think everyone should use them the first time they try to knit a particular item.
I don't know what is prettier, Scout or her knitting.
That Scout! Her mom, Atticus, also got interested in my knitting this weekend. I went into the kitchen and when I got back my working ball of yarn was on the floor. I thought I knocked it off myself, but then the next time I left the room the ball was on the floor--again. HMMM.
You're cats adorable. My dogs have no interest in my yarn. I like the simple cardi. Look forward to seeing how it turns out. :-)
